Album Notes

The OtherHalf is an Atlanta, GA based band that is the brain child of Stan Whatley and Patrick Donovan.

The project originated in the late 90's as an acoustic duo.

In 2000 the release of their first record "Acoustically Speaking" received critical acclaim and a great deal of attention in the South East.

An amazing rhythm section was added for the recording of the newest release entitled "In Other Words".

The new record really showcases The OtherHalf's ability to combine complex chord structures and great musicianship with strong melody and heady lyrics.

The songs range from almost a straight jazz feel to full-on rock and roll.

This record is a must for anyone who appreciates serious musicians who know how to craft a song.

Wanted to drop a word or two to express how great I think this album is (same goes for Acoustically Speaking). I read recently that they're currently recording their third album. Can't wait for that. Until then I'll keep jamming to this one. Come to New York and play sometime.

Why aren't these guys famous?

I got this CD about two months ago but just listened to it for the first time a few days ago. Probably the best album I've heard in at least a year. These guys are brilliant musicians. Sounds like there are many influences coming together like The Police, Steely Dan and even some Jimi Hendrix. But they sound very original. Be sure and order your copy because if the record companies have any sense at all, they'll sign these guys and this CD will cost alot more than $10 after a while. Incredible music and I'm enjoying every minute of it. Great job!

Outstanding and thoughtful electric debut !!

I'm a member of another band, joining forces with "TheOtherHalf" in the conquest of the Atlanta live music scene. So, Stan sent me a CD to ensure our styles were sympathetic and OH MY GOSH !! In playing the Atlanta scene heavily for over a year, I had never come across a sound that invoked such a sophisiticated, musicalyet soulful reaction. I love comparisons and this band reminds me of a jam session between The Police, Steely Dan and The Spin Doctors. outstanding musicians are easy to spot in this grunge/ metal/ rap/ pop musical culture we now endure and these guys merge great musicianship with storis that make you feel and think. WOW...music that sounds pleasing/ interesting AND tells a story...WHAT A CONCEPT !!! Do yourself a favor...if your tired of bubble gum commercial trash or people in black leather spitting blood...check this band out...a breath of very fresh air will be yours to enjoy !!! - Larry Savage
