A year since I bought this from here and I play it most days. Has to be one of the greatest albums I've ever heard - comparisons to Billy Bragg & Phil Ochs are only half the story. Like Mark, I saw Otis supporting Billy Bragg in London, and I'll be going to see him when he's back in the UK in July.

Brilliant Album

Otis Gibbs is a brilliant singer/songwriter. He has been compared to the legendary Billy Bragg and this is a very fair comparison. This album mixes politics and love songs and is one the best albums I have ever heard. Why Otis isn't a household name is very hard to understand - he deserves to be.

Fabulous

Saw Otis in Kalamazoo on the eve of the fourth and was floored. Otis is the consummate pro. He was solo and his fluid guitar playing, americana grit and thought provoking yet clever lyrics made me wonder if there was even room on that stage for accompaniment. I was pleasantly surprised to hear fully fleshed out tunes on the disc. Otis, consider me a fan. We'll meet again.

Woody is smiling down

very fine effort with concise songwriting and skilled guitar playing. Mr. Gibbs lays down great folk stories in the tradition of Woody Guthrie. songs of protest wrapped in hope along with several tracks painting a beautiful picture of the places he has seen. Small Town Saturday Night will touch the heart of any midwesterner.
