When most people think of New Orleans, they immediately envision heat, jazz and Cajun food. However, stemming from that dry heat and warm southern hospitality is non other than New Orleans native Otis Joseph. Touched by God at an early age, Joseph began ministering musically at the age of seven.
Being reared by a mother who instilled in him the value of serving and loving God with diligence, Joseph has learned how to share the gift that God gave him with others. He has been blessed to share stage with music icons ranging from Quincy Jones, Patti LaBelle, Melba Moore and Rachelle Ferrell to Rev. Timothy Wright, Shirley Caesar, Dorothy Norwood and Beverly Crawford. He has experienced challenges that forced him to call on the name of the Lord while yet ministering to those in need.
Zamar was formed in 1996. Zamar, which stands for "musicians under thee anointing" is a handful of beautifully saved and vocally trained singers that are always anxious to lift up the name of Jesus. The overall goal is to manifest the Holy Spirit at all times throughout their ministry and throughout their walk.
After nearly six years of witnessing and spreading God's Love through song with thousands, Otis Joseph & Zamar are praising God for their debut release entitled, "Don't Stop Praying For Me." Co-Produced and composed by Joseph, this project encompasses the very essence of praise, worship, encouragement and inspiration.
