Album Notes
Who? Where? What?

Daniel Ouellette is a singer-performer from Massachusetts who has been performing his own divine original compositions of New Wave music for the past seven years. Daniel has remained underground gaining listeners and fans along the way. In this time, he had released 5 independent CDs that he offered through his website and at live performances. But now he is making a debut to a wider audience and has chosen to do things backwards by releasing a "Best of" of sorts:

"Monsterland -The Revenge of Daniel" on his own Meannie Jeannie Records. RUN!!!

Is a collection of 15 songs from Daniel’s CDs recorded over the past five years. How wonderful it is to have all of Daniel’s favorite songs on one CD! It is rather ridiculous and foolish to start with a compilation. Which makes it the perfect way to open up to a wider audience. All of Daniel’s favorite themes are here: Monster Movies, Buddhist themes, disappointment, obsession, humor, and other dramatic emotions that makes a spoiled or lonely person cry!

What are the influences and styles?

The voice, the words and the percussion are the most important parts of a song for Daniel. His songs are minimal in instrumentation and production. There are songs that do benefit from technology but Daniel always wants his music to seem alive and perfect from the imperfection. This CD is not a slickly produced project. It is a reflection of someone who works off the energy from the moment that the song comes to him. As Daniel says “ I have always been driven by simply letting the energy of the ideas come out like Godzilla or Mothra. I just do what I have to do! I try to get the most I can out of the cheapness of my equipment. I like to think I can do so much on so little, make it larger than life”

It’s alive!

Daniel has been performing in clubs, cafes, benefit and private functions throughout New England, New York and Canada for the past seven years. His shows are Performance Art with direct interactions with the audience. Daniel uses computers to generate the music whilst he roams the stage and also likes to go into the audience to bother the spectators. This spring and summer Daniel will be performing any place he can and happily announces that he will be doing shows with the incredible Burnt Fur! Come see them!

What a great CD containing a mere 15 of Daniel's best songs! There are many more! Daniel's strength is in his lyrics, humor and delivery. He also puts on an amazing live show I think everyone should see! Disappointment never sounded so wonderful, buy this CD and impress your friends!
