Always impressive, Our New Year's latest release "31:00" could easily slide into anyone's favorites. Having seen these songs performed live as well, I must say, this is one of those CD's you don't want to be without. Listen to it to relax, listen to it with your girl, listen to it whenever. It's one of those CD's that you can play regardless of mood, or attitude. Not much else I can say about this CD, other than Great. Just all around great.

Overall Rating (1-10) 9.5

our new year - 31:00 - scorpisces

six songs/31 minutes of whiney brat boy emo. very thick reverby guitars with the occasional clean fingerpicking parts, all while 2 singers fight it out vocally - one armed with gruff and the other just crying getting his ass stomped. a perfect mix of early small brown bike and get up kids, if you're into this stuff you just found the next soundtrack to lay your man, or lady, down to.

Epic songs that carry several change-ups and keep the listener on their toes
Our New Year, the latest project from a group of friends who have been collaborating together for years in one way or another in a thriving music community North of Boston, is by far one of the most innovative projects to come out of the Boston area in years. The commitment to their music is number one and it shows on their Debut release, 31:00(Thirty-one Minutes) [Scorpisces Records]. Dualing vocals match up from opposite ends of the spectrum with raw yelling and the emotional cries made popular by bands such as The Get Up Kids, Thursday & Boy Sets Fire. Their epic songs carry several change-ups and keep the listener on their toes, and before you know it thirty-one minutes and six songs have passed you by leaving you thirsting for more.

Yell from the heart
This band is so cool! Imagaine the Smackin' Isaiah play emo. The vocal yells from the heart. Really a good emo record.
