Outlander's self titled release will be a shocker to music fans everywhere.
The CD combines influences of progressive and hard rock like Rush, Soundgarden, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, and more into Outlander's unique style.
The songs are catchy and memorable but at the same time not cliche and predictable.
It has complexity lyrically and musically while still maintaining a powerful and visceral, inspiring sound.
Instrumentally each member shows a mastering of their trade.
Drums range from simple powerful grooves to complicated fills and odd time rhythms.
Guitar sounds vary over a large soundscape, from clean to distorted, ethereal to in-your-face.
Bass guitar is never sleepy, always tactful and busy.
Keys and various pads enhance the mood in each song, while the vocals top it all off varying from breathy softness in some songs to screaming power in others.
The CD took over 2 years to write and record, and through the blood and sweat of the band is now a reality.
The Band members are three brothers from Wisconsin.
Band member Chris Walczak is the singer and plays bass guitar and keys. He is a composition graduate who teaches music and writes comission pieces for orchestra in Wisconsin.
Scott Walczak plays acoustic and electric guitars, and is an engineering graduate from the Milwaukee School of Engineering.
Marty Walczak plays all drums and percussion, and is also an engineering graduate from the Milwaukee School of Engineering.
The members have been playing together for years, and this CD represents the culmination of all those years of growth.
It is a must have for music lovers of all kinds, and is as interesting and entertaining on the 10th listen through as it was on the first.
Something new can always be heard...

Wow

I ordered this debut album after listening to their second one non-stop the last few months. While a little mellower, it's still has their trademark haunting sound. If all bands had this solid a first effort, the music business might be in better shape than it is. Can't wait to see where the lads take us on album #3.

Beautiful, strong and complicated music. I can't wish for more (wel...Outlander 3 perhaps, and the comming Snakes & Arrows Rush DVD?) I got the CD's (Outlander 1&2) only for a week now, and played them both for at least 20 times.
Gentlemen, keep up the good work!

I am a huge fan of Rush, that is how I aquired a sample CD of your music. I was attending a show in Milwauke and it was handed out there. Just the one album? Please make more and notify your fans! Thank you, Lindy Jo
