Album Notes
Formed in Elk Grove, CA in 2000, the acoustic rock trio known as Out of Place has vaulted from their humble beginnings in the suburbs to the scene in Sacramento where they have established themselves as one of the area's more promising bands. Location and notoriety have changed, surely, but what is most notable about Out of Place is the development of their sound and artistic abilities. Songwriter and lead singer Adam Thompson blends unique and forceful melodies with poignant lyrics, while bassist Steve Saxby and drummer Lucas Thompson (brother of Adam) give to the well crafted songs a fast paced intensity that drives the music to even greater heights.

The name says it all - Out of Place is a band that defies a place in mainstream music, playing songs that have both a rock band's power and a singer songwriter's artistry. This spring they prepare to release their second album (following their 2005 release, "Tiny Heart Attack"). The new record, "Friday Evening", marks another big step in the band's growth. As the band's fan base grows, they continue to make a name as a hard working, powerful ensemble that produces consistently good recordings and great live shows in a variety of venues. As the band prepares for even more recordings and more extensive tours people all over continue to find an appreciation for this unique and challenging group of musicians.
