OVUM (played for CMJ Music Marathon 2008 in NY)
is a Japanese instrumental Post-Rock band, which has an artistic sense of beautiful melodies of Sigur Ross and sentimental dynamism of Envy;beautiful like a perfect symphony, then brutaly aggressive.

In March 2006, Norikazu Chiba(Gt),Shunsuke Onoyama(Ba), and Yu Tokuda(Dr) were seeking for a missing piece to fill out their hunger for their ideal band sound, then they met Yosuke Jinnouchi(Gt), what they were looking for. Soon they started OVUM together and gigging around Tokyo area.

It was May 2007 when they released their 1st EP "Under The Lost Sky ep "(self-released), and with that, they became one of the top instrumental rock bands in the scene. In July 2007, they played an opening act for Yndi Halda, one of the best instrumental rock bands from UK, and also, their self-produced event "CLOSER" was very successful, gathering hundreds of people.

In April 2008, a long-awaited their 1st official full album "microcosmos" will be released in Japan and China and now they are getting a lot of requests from many foreign countries, not only Japan, through myspace, asking for their shows all over the world. It must be a bright future they are seeing now.
