Album Notes

OXFORD DEPOT was formed in 1995. Guitarist Tom Earl (a resident of the town of Oxford Depot), Leon Swyka, and Rich Walter formed the original band. Tom eventually left the group however, the name lived on.

In 1998 while attending a local Coffee House, Leon and Rich met guitarist Mike Baglione, and after hearing him perform asked him to join the group. While at a practice session with the Wawayanda Bluegrass Band, Mike asked banjo picker Ed Ackerly if he would like to pick with OXFORD DEPOT. Eventually Ed joined the band. Several months later Carl Kubie, a friend of Ed's joined up with OXFORD DEPOT as their fiddler.

As it turned out, each of these musicians have been involved in different forms of music; country rock, traditional bluegrass, folk, old time fiddling and country. These musical styles make themselves evident in the sound that is unique to OXFORD DEPOT.

OXFORD DEPOT has been playing in the NJ, NY, PA area for several years now at festivals such as, Willow Creek Bluegrass Festival, The Autumn Leaves Traditional Music and Dance Festival, The Grahamsville Fiddle Festival, The White Trash Estate's Music Festival, Bodle's Opera House Folk Festival. Along with many local venues and events in the tri-state area.
