Jazz Café is the debut album of Oystein Westlie. Influented by norwegian folk music and west coast jazz the album brings cool music to your ears. Oystein Westlie is a fulltime composer, musician and recording artist, and he has a classical background as a pianoplayer started at age seven. He also has been a encore student at MI in Hollywood, CA. On the album Oystein plays all the instruments except saxophone which is done by long time professional New York musician Gaute Solaas. Oystein is often inspired by photos and film and he has been working as a photographer for the last seven years. He has illustrated seven books on food written by his wife Marit published by Cappelen Damm, Norway. He has also produced over fifty shortfilms on food. Stunning Jazz instrumentals
author: Diane and the RadioIndy.com Reviewer Team

Quite inspiring is the multi-talented artist, Oystein Westlie, as his recently released album, “Jazz Café” is filled with stunning Jazz instrumentals. Not only has Westlie composed this finely crafted disc but he impresses the listener with his outstanding performances on all instruments except the saxophone. You’ll be swept away from the very first song “Sweeping the driveway” as the cool vibes of the instruments interplay with each other. The title track, “Jazz Café” is smooth Jazz at its best with distinct rhythmic punctuation and orchestration. The elegant piece “Ice cream” is free flowing and features a crisp and clean piano. A fabulous Jazz guitar takes on the melody of the song, “Bike rental,” and it is also bolstered by the colorful piano chord progressions. Don’t miss the opportunity to listen to the superb album “Jazz Café” as it will surely please your musical palate.
