A medley of two well known melodies in an edgy ska-polka sense of rhythm. Lyrically the song makes a subtle social statement about the housing mortgage meltdown and the loss of one's sanctuary. Are you sleeping? Our fresh sound combines elements of the sax-oboe like characteristics of the bassoon, distorted guitar, a driving bass line, tribal sounds of the drums, and quivering vocals.

Album Notes

This is the second recording with our newest addition to the band, Shuli Rayberg. She plays bassoon to our mix of rock music, an instrument not usually used in our genre. We hope you like it.

Recorded with a digital 8 track and mixed with Protools by Steve Tarnoff. Mastering by Gabe Moffat at the tree house.
Photos for the album cover by Shuli Rayberg, album cover concept and design by Steve Tarnoff.

Oyster Club is composed of 2 of the 3 original members from the band Home Planet, Steve Tarnoff: Singer/songwriter and guitarist, and Mike Roux: drummer and backup vocalist. (Home Planet has not been together since the end of the last millennium). Joining “Oyster Club” provisionally on the recordings has been Martin Tarnoff a.k.a. Suiauthon Lhûgrancion and a few other "nom de plumes" (son of band leader Steve Tarnoff) playing bass and added some younger blood to the band. Taylor McEneaney is their new bass player since Martin left the band.
The band plays 60’s and 80’s influenced rock with a philosophy that rock music is essentially plugged-in folk music. Oyster Club continues to perform Home Planet music (which can be purchased on CD baby.com and other internet outlets) and has composed more tunes now released on the CD "Grateful Living In The Shadows".
