The highly-acclaimed band Pablo Picasso was formed in 1981 and while active in Tokyo\'s punk/new-wave scene began releasing such albums as \"Soft Type\" with the independent label Telegraph Records, until the band\'s demise in 1985.
After that, leader and bassist Makoto Nomura embarked on a solo project called Pablo, and from 1986 to 1988 a fluctuating change in members made up this project.
While Pablo Picasso\'s sound evolved under the influence of Tokyo Rockers~Friction, Pablo\'s sound evolved through its talented members who, not being fixed in any one genre, could absorb a variety of musical characteristics, resulting in a sound that overflowed with originality.
Beginning with Miles Davis\'s electric sound from the 1970\'s, Pablo took various genres such as rock, jazz, and funk and mixed them together into a fusion sound, or what they called \"borderless music\".
With the new wave and hip hop movement of the 80\'s, and the likes of Material, and The Golden Palominos (Bill Laswell, Anton Fier…etc.) out of New York, more of a variety of elements were absorbed and incisively added to further expand on Pablo\'s sound.
This CD was edited from five live recordings and one studio recording during the end of 1987 to the beginning of 1988 in which Tsuguhito Tsukada (g)(Mitsuru Sawamura\'s Mich Live, Hajime Tachibana, Shi-Shonen, Soft Ballet…etc.) participated.
In addition, one song from a live recording in 1986 was added.
Other members: Takeshi Shimizu (Pablo Picasso), Masayuki Kozuka (Pablo Picasso), Kenjirou Kihara (Bachikaburi, Nubile), Nao-Ken (Concretes), and Serigano (Friction) participated in the live dub mixing.
