If you're looking for a sampling of the best Latin Music out there, you can find the very best on Paco Gatsby's CDs. Founded by trumpeter/arranger Bob Porter, whose credits range from Lassie and Laugh In to Kay Starr and more, a travelling pioneer for the Baha'i Faith who moved to Guatemala in 1970, set up camp and stayed there only to become one of their most recognized musicians and artists. His band, Paco Gatsby, performs regularly at the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee almost every year in May and they seem to be the highlight of the event, showcasing not only the top Latin hits, but some of Bob's Dixieland arrangements of Guatemalan folkloric classics such as "Ferrocarril de los Altos", mixed in with the latest merengue, salsa, cha cha and a whole lot more. What more could you ask for?
