At 22, Paddy was ten miles off the coast of Maine apprenticing with a natural foods chef on Monhegan Island. When he wasn't cooking, you'd find him on the rocks above
the sea, cheap wine in one hand, cheap guitar in the other, quoting Jack Karouac and Edward Abbey. Only the call of the road could have finally pulled him away from that magical place. It's this tension between his strong rural roots and insatiable wanderlust that have come to define his life and music.
As a songwriter, Paddy has a knack for the overlooked. He knows that common sense is not so common, and simple truths are not so simple. With a hitch-hikers heart and a back pack full of notebook philosophy, Paddy leaves you grinning like you've just been let in on a secret -- one that you might just have known all along.

Paddy defines himself with "Our Hometown"
author: G. Cormier
Despite the fact that Paddy made us wait a few years for this CD, it's quite easy to forgive him with this tremendous offering. Frankly, he's defined himself exteremely well on this CD as one of Maine's precious gems (just above Maine tourmaline!). From the opening cut "Hiking" (which grooves nicely like waves lapping on the rocks keeping time with the tides) to the gorgeous title cut of "Our Hometown"... amazing! Though I stepped off my musical path years ago, I think it's time to pick up the old guitar and learn a few of these songs... they're just that good! Hat's off to Jud Caswell who recorded and produced... nicely done!
