The Celtic Reggae Revolutions first Release since forming from the ashes of former Scottish based band Paddyrasta. The band formed by their singer/songwriter/composer Brian Gilligan (formerly of Paddyrasta) is a mix of reggae and Irish folk with hints of Pop and Dub. Described as a quirky, the music can definately be described as unique. This E.P. is a release of 3 of the tracks from the album to be released later in the year featuring recording artists such as
the musically gifted Jarlath Henderson (Uileann pipes, Low whistle), Martin MacDonald (Acoustic Guitar), Aly Salam (Drums and Percussion), Moya Sands (Vocals, Fiddle), Spider Mackenzie (Harmonica), Brian Gilligan (Vocals, Banjo, Mandola, Guitar and programming), Tom Roche (Button Box) and backing vocalists Becka Gauld, Fanny Beloso and Jayne Carmichael.
The E.P.'s songs vary from the happy pop reggae tones of You've Got To Laugh to the more Dub sounding Raggle Taggle Gypsy which features beautiful whistle playing and Acoustic Guitar. Topping it all is the mastering of Pink Floyd's 2 times Grammy nominee recording engineer Andy Jackson.
Have a listen and Judge for yourself.
