Album Notes

Some incarnation of the Pagan Jug Band has been around since 1993. The band has evolved over the years, but the philosophy of the two founding members that still remain in the band (Chris Miskow & Patrick Buckley) has not changed at all: play music that you love and you will be happy playing music!

The Pagan Jug Band plays around Portland at various local music spots and over the years we have played at various local music festivals like Pickathon and the Oregon Country Fair. Chances are if you see us playing around town we will have an old friend sitting in with us for a few songs here and there, or maybe just a fan from the audience who happened to bring an interesting instrument with them. We love playing with new people and playing in new places.

Its amazing to us how music can be powerful enough to bring people together from all over the world, erasing thousands of miles and a couple of oceans that separate us in the real world, through one click of the mouse on our website.

We hope you will check us out, listen to some of our music and come out to a show if you are in the great Pacific Northwest!

REVIEWS

good music
author: Nancy St.Romain
good music, excellent musicianship, interesting and varied choice of songs (old-time, folk blues, cajun and zydeco, and more recent blues) with great instrumentation and arrangements. That said, this is a very MODERN sounding record - very smooth, slick, processed sound, dripping with overdubs. Some of the melodies (especially of the old-time songs) seem rather updated, too.
