Album Notes

Jimmy Pagano began playing guitar as a young teenager in 1960's San Francisco. HIs style at the time was finger-style folk. Over the years the complexity and sophistication of his music grew as he absorbed influences from ragtime, blues, and jazz. Today the best description of his playing would be folk-jazz as a glance at the list of songs on this album would suggest. His arrangements are subtle, with multiple moving lines above and below the melody, and though there is much for a guitarist to discover, there is an equal amount of simple pleasure to be had in simply sitting back and letting the music play.
