Album Notes

Page1, (CEO of Hittin Lick Records,hittinlickradio.com and the founder of Detromental, which stands for Detroit Mentallity), True Hood Stories is a collection of real-life stories with a mid-west sound. Page1 the last of a dying breed in the world of rap and hip-hop. Page1 was destined to perform and his love for the game is displayed in everything he does.

After releasing a single"00"and maxi-single"03" ; “True Hood Stories” (Hittin Lick Records, 2007) is his first full length solo endeavor. True Hood Stories is a collection of 17 tracks based on his life in the city of Detroit. This CD combines his heartfelt lyrics with hard-hittin production by Killa Smuv and Mag the poe boy. And features members of past and present of the group Detromental,as well as other artist from the Detroit area.

From the beginning to the end True Hood Stories brings the fast paced sound of the street to reality. Sharing his triumphs and tragedies; Page1 keeps it real on all levels of the game.

“Twist Ya Caps” is pumped and ready for action. It’s all about attitude; Gangsta or Boss, whichever you relate to Twist Ya Caps is a mentality and a way of life.

“West Side” is a hot and sultry mix. Yes, his stories speak of gangsta tales and thug actions, but West Side has a softer feel to it. Page1 takes the sound of the city off the streets and tucks it away seductively behind closed doors.

“All Nite” features several artists; Mook Dog, Killa Smuv, and K-Swade. Freaky song for dance club. Parental advisory is a mild term for this sexy number. Some of the Midwest’s hottest male rappers on one collaboration has the sound of a sweltering New Orleans night, somewhere between midnite and 5am.

"Fallen" has a down and out background but leaves you with a feeling that everything is going to work out just fine. A little prayer and The 23rd Psalm have a way of keeping you on the ups every time. Page1's voice hints at despair, but you know this man is a survivor when you hear what he has to say.

"I'm a Boss" shows the versatility of Page1. A hype beat for the club! Page 1 has the whole crowd moving with this track. The young hustlers want to be like him, stacking money and running the scene like a pro. Imagine a custom whip with chrome shining and rims rolling- pulling up in front of the club on a hot summer night. Jumping out and mobin in with your crew.
