The group that has since come to be known as the Scattered Pages was spearheaded by Brandon Hancock and Ryan Guidry under the name "the Good People" in 2000. As a duo they entertained an audience comprised mostly of friends and relatives. In under a year, they were joined by Kurt Coburn and Andy McWilliams. They quickly developed a loyal following and by the summer of 2002, were recording their set material. Meet the Americant, a full-length record, and A Band of One's Own, a five-song EP, were released in April and June of 2003, respectively. By this time, the group was calling itself the Scattered Pages. In the spring of 2004, Ryan amicably excused himself from the group.
Kurt Coburn, Andy McWilliams, and Brandon Hancock, otherwise known as the Scattered Pages, are presently performing as a trio (longtime friend Mitch Mignano joined the band for the Summer Tour of 2004 playing lead guitar and keyboards). The band has also begun working on a third recording, to be released in the summer of 2006.
