Most Painful Reminder songs aim to capture some specific dysfunctional sentiment in the bluntest possible way. The end effect can be depressing or hilarious, and often both. Then the music is composed to emphasize the lyrics, with a liberal dose of punk "fuck it" attitude, but with melodic folk-rock arrangements emphasizing music more than noise.
I've been pleasantly surprised to find quite an array of tastes to which this music seems to appeal. When we started gigging, we packed houses in Atlanta right out of the starting gate, entirely because people like to share this music with each other. There is nothing more gratifying than that.
World of Filth and Sin is a comprehensive collection of the latest and best-produced versions of nearly every song the band recorded from its inception in 1997 to its hiatus in 2007. It includes harder, significantly changed versions of most of the songs on "One Way Ticket: Songs to Slit Your Wrists By", a remastered version of "No More", and eight new songs. The liner notes are premium quality, including professionally printed booklets. Like everything else the band does, you'd never even notice it's DIY.
