Singing came at a very early age for this Columbia S.C. born 14 year old, with years of school and church performances. She received her first keyboard for Christmas at the age of one. At the age of eight Paisley began three years of piano lessons. She was awarded a first place trophy for her vocals at Irmo Middle School in the talent competition at age eleven. After a four year study in the Tri-District Arts Consortium she took home the best vocal overall and best first soprano awards. She was pictured in the South Carolina State Paper as a finalist in the statewide Teen Idol contest at the Richland County Public Library at age eleven. By the age of twelve she picked up the guitar and within two months played her first open mike night. Showing incredible talent and stage presence, this girl is destined to go places.
Paisley has written, recorded and financed her very first CD entitled “Three More Miles to Go.” It contains seven of her own songs, and a remake of Johnny Cash’s Folsom Prison Blues. The CD is set for a spring release of 2012. The disc was recorded live at the Soundlab in Lexington S.C. with few overdubs and no pitch correction of any sort, allowing you to hear a singer with a guitar performing the songs as if you were sitting in the room listening. Paisley has the singing, performing and song writing chops of a seasoned professional. She recorded all vocals, guitar, percussion and keyboards on the disc. She even added a track of dulcimer to the song “You’re The One For Me”, which was a gift from her grandfather in Alabama. Her dad and special guest fifteen year old classical bassist C. A. Williams played bass on several of the tracks on the disc. It’s for certain- this music is far beyond her years in lyrical expression, content, and arrangement. It’s not every day something this real comes along.
While currently she just turned a whopping 14 years of age. She has plans to hit the road this summer to Nashville Tennessee and beyond, which has been a dream since starting to perform and write songs. One song in particular on the disc, titled “I’'ve Never Been To Nashville”, tells the story of this up and coming trip to the music city from her perspective.
Paisley has had the chance to share the stage with many great regional and national artists in the short time of two years since she began performing.
