Album Notes

pale fire union is Toronto based singer/songwriter K. and a supporting cast of local musicians. The collective's fourth, self-titled recording blends Sanskrit chant, folk music and Rasta vibes in a roots groove.

Reggae rhythms, tribal beats and backwoods guitar meet in the moonlight.
Voices gather and rise by the fireside.
These are songs for the sufferers and the sunshine seekers, out there everyday, moving and working, dancing and weeping, living and loving.

The live show is a stripped down affair, highlighting K.'s voice and words. Along with original repertoire, you'll hear tunes by such greats as Bob Marley, Otis Redding, Johnny Cash and the late high priestess of soul Ms. Nina Simone.

Through gigs and record sales pale fire union has raised funds for the Daily Bread food bank and Helene Day Care in rural India. Summer of 2008 saw K. and the group performing at the first annual Green Culture Festival; where local artists danced, sang and sold their wares to make possible the planting of community gardens in Bellevue Square park in Toronto's Kensington Market.

pale fire union plays regularly in classic Toronto clubs, cafes and yoga studios, at Pedestrian Sundays in Kensington and on thatradio.com's Liquid Lunch program.

May We meet the Most High in a roots rock style.

This is pale fire union.
