Album Notes

Pamela Juelharte was born in a small town in western Montana. Mining, logging, farming and ranching were the mainstays of the region, and their influence is heard throughout her music. Growing up in Montana, she enjoyed the calm serenity of the outdoors. Family was important, and she was fortunate enough to have a loving, hard working father supporting her older sister, younger brother, and her so their mother could stay home.
From a very young age music was an intrinsic part of who she was. Her parents bought her first guitar at a pawn shop, and she loved it. She always knew that creating music was her life’s calling. “I had a lot of other interests that seemed more practical, but music was all I ever really wanted to do.” After high school she played in a couple cover bands, but soon discovered her talent for songwriting.

Before she could cultivate her songwriting abilities, Pamela moved to North Carolina with a friend. She wanted to see what the world was like beyond Montana. She enjoyed her brief episode with independence, but her joy was short-lived. Soon after her arrival to North Carolina, her grandfather passed away. She always regretted not being there to say goodbye. After a year, she moved back home.

For the next few years she began to take more and more interest in writing original songs. It was her creative outlet. Pamela had always been withdrawn, and songwriting offered a way to express bottled up emotions from her past. She collaborated with two female vocalists and formed the trio Third Rail. They produced Listen Up!, their first album of all original songs. The album got regular airplay on several radio stations around Montana.

Although Pamela was somewhat of a free spirit, there was a need for safety and security that made her pursue a career in Land Surveying. After earning a degree, she sent her resume around the country and was offered a job in Northern Virginia. She worked for a couple years, but soon decided that she wanted to do something more meaningful with her life. She gave up Land Surveying and became a Police Officer.

Pamela has been a Police Officer for eight years and currently serves as a Patrol Sergeant. She says, “After all that I have seen, everything I’ve been involved in, the greatest thrill of my job is watching my squad members succeed, and hoping I may have contributed in some small way to their success.”

She recently made the decision to pursue music again. “This job has given me the confidence to know that I can accomplish anything I set my mind to. I love my job, and I love the men and women I work with, but all I’ve ever wanted to do is create music. Whether or not I sell albums or make it in the music business is secondary to the feeling I get when my songs touch people. I thank everyone who contributed to my project, because without you, there would be no project."
