Album Notes

As a preschool teacher aware of the developmental needs of children and also an elementary music teacher desiring quality, effective, and educational songs to teach and reach very young students, singer/songwriter/musician, Pamela Piersyn, began writing her own children's songs. The result is her unique and rewarding, brand new children’s CD, “In the Rainbow,” specifically designed to enhance the intellectual, physical, and emotional development of children. This is no ordinary children’s CD. It is much more than just entertaining and interactive. It has been purposely composed to promote greater learning and expose young children to a variety of musical styles, instruments, rhythms, and sounds. Pamela Piersyn’s, “In the Rainbow,” is a fresh sounding, creative mix of songs. The different pop, latin, polka, old-time rock and roll, bluegrass, and reggae styles add excitement to the children's learning of substantial preschool and kindergarten subjects.

Pamela Piersyn’s songs also encourage the essential element of creative movement. Few children or parents can resist dancing, clapping, and tapping their toes to the beat of the music. The children love dancing the hula and doing hand movements to the Hawaiian-influenced title track, “In the Rainbow,” while learning the seven colors of the rainbow in their correct order and hearing the steel drums set the island mood. They get an absolute kick out of learning about a baby kangaroo and imitating his actions in “Jumpin’ Joey." The fun doesn’t stop there! Children can’t wait to pop, smack, and count bubbles in the reggae song titled just that, "Bubbles." As the kids learn about eating a healthy snack, they get the chance to go bananas and act like an ape in the Caribbean-flavored song, “Fruit, Fruit.” More titles include songs about the life cycles of the frog and butterfly, the planets and counting in three languages, the ABC's, and just good ole play time! Kids enjoy singing along to the catchy lyrics and melodies as well as listening for the unique instruments used in the clever production and visual imagery of these songs.

It is no secret music brings learning to life. Research suggests that early exposure to music not only enhances your child's ability to create and enjoy music, but also enhances brain function and the overall ability to learn. New research continues to show music can help students score higher on math, reading, and science tests. Give your child the gift of music! Don’t miss out on this unique, wonderfully fun, and educational CD that will prove beneficial in your child's development.
