Pamela Rose's collection is a fabulous tribute to some of the most influential women composers of the jazz era. The book is extremely informative and Rose's vocals and music are a joy to listen to. I highly recommend these.....what a treat!

CD and Book? Wow!!
author: Karl Cishek
I wrote the following review for the CD alone when it was released:
"Every jazz fan with the slightest interest in vocal music needs this CD. History lesson? Yes, and more. Project created out of love and admiration? Yes, and again more. Great musicians with great arrangements coming together with a great vocalist? Yes, and still more. Wild Women of Song is truly a celebration of the music these women composers have given to us, and that includes Pamela Rose herself. The songs you already know are suddenly fresh and alive again. The ones you don't know will have you wondering where these gems were hidden. And the three original numbers, cool and contemporary, fit superbly with the others. But most of all, what really makes this CD special, is Pamela Rose's incredible vocal style: crisp and clear, sweet and saucy. What a talent!"
Having seen the live multimedia perform the companion book was, to my thinking, a logical next step. The extensive research that went into this project had to be presented alongside the music. As a package this is truly something wonderful. An incredible gift.

This is the real deal!

You Could Have It All
author: Sheila Banning
I didn't think the 2009 Wild Women of Song CD could be improved upon, but Pamela Rose proved me wrong! This collection of stories and photos about the women composers of Tin Pan Alley is part homage, part history lesson, and always fascinating. Play the companion CD while paging through the book, and it's almost like having Pamela perform her multi-media show in your living room. Pamela Rose shares the backstory to familiar songs, the heartache and triumph, the love and the loss. This is the perfect gift for any jazz lover or historian - just don't forget to pick up a copy for yourself.
