Album Notes

A couple of years ago Joao Erbetta contacted me about doing The L.A. Sessions (2008) at my studio. We hit it off musically and personally.

I’ve been collecting rock and roll from other countries for a while—mostly Spain, Italy and Mexico—so I asked Joao about Brazil. He gave me about 15 hours of stuff, all of it good but none of it rock and roll!

There were so many great songs, we decided to do some of them for our next project. With my Los Straitjackets partner, Eddie Angel, on guitar, Rob Douglas on bass also helping in the control room, and Ron Dziubla spicing things up, we learned the tunes, pushed record, and Presto!

The best projects I’ve worked on have always been the easiest. This was a breeze.
