Album Notes

In early 2001, Panic Attack formed and wasted no time entering the energetic St. Louis music scene, quickly building a fan base that is loyal and growing. Crowds love the atmosphere conjured at every Panic Attack show which stems from the band's ability to connect with its audience. Panic Attack is a band that delivers and thrives on live performance energy.

Panic Attack's dynamic sound is led by Lisa Huffman's strong vocals. Catchy hooks emanate from Scott Dippel's intricate guitar work, and the dynamic rhythm section of Tim McGuirk on drums and Greg Coan's visceral bass solidify the tight quartet. Beth Garwacki of MGD writes of the band, "Looking and listening to Panic Attack is an A&R persons dream come true. They have short introductions to their songs; clear, concise lyrics that everyone can relate to, and clean crisp beats and riffs."

As the band matures and grows closer as friends and musicians, they look forward to the next step in their career. With the release of the debut "Panic Attack" the buzz in the midwest has become more fervent, and is sure to spread across the rest of the country.

Look at what's being said:

"Looking and listening to Panic Attack is an A&R persons dream come true. They have short introductions to their songs; clear concise lyrics that everyone can relate to, and clean crisp beats and riffs. The lead singers voice almost reminds you of another rock stars, that being Janice Joplin. Yes, I am comparing a local St. Louis band to that of someone who made it big. Lisa's voice is mature and she has a sound that captures you."
- Beth Garwacki, StL MGD

"This quartet blends hard-edged rock 'n' roll with jangly guitar pop a la' early REM, and the formula works for them. Scott is genuinely talented, and was firing off some pretty searing leads, but showed he could also play with restraint and melodic sensitivity. Vocalist Lisa Huffman sounds like a high energy blend of Natalie Merchant with a dash or two of Melissa Etheridge."
- Laura Hamlett, Playback St. Louis

"Panic Attack is one group that is not only growing by leaps and bounds in their own music, but also helping open up St. Louis to a broad new music scene. Panic Attack's new alternative-rock sound is led by a singer who can wail like Courtney Love or haunt you like Natalie Merchant, and, odd as that may sound, it ends up being a great blend that is winning fans all over the St. Louis area."
- Sarah Brandt, St. Louis Magazine

Wow. These guys are great. The playing is tight, and they're obviously a close group. I really enjoyed listening to this CD. I can see them doing great things very soon!

Very 'radio friendly'!

I feel overall the CD is a fine piece of radio friendly work, but liked the 'more edgy' vocals and guitar solos that the band had in their original formation and demos and other recordings I was priviledged to hear from their earlier work together. The replacement of the bassist/aka founder of the band.. has not detered the sound, but brought about a level of publicity and talent to the band to enable them to perhaps further their ambitions.

It is so unreal how the whole band works together to create one great sound! The blend of the guitars, drums and vocals makes it very hard not to pay attention to it and want to sing along. It sticks in your head and you find yourself humming the songs even when your not listening to it.
