the fritz gang's first album, "out of the blue", gives full expression to their musical philosophy. while paying homage to some of their favorite 'greats' from albert collins to the beatles, more than half of the songs on the disc are original, written by lello panico and tim fritz.
at times, fritz's lyrics faithfully respect the blues tradition (growin' weary), but they can also give a stingingly realistic view of the powers that be in america (living in your wake).
the songs on the album were performed and captured on tape in umbria over a few weekends spent in the medieval village of guadamello (the 'famous' guadamello studios of lucrezio de seta). the arrangements were all spontaneous with nothing written or planned; fruit of the creative collaboration between lello, enrico, tim, and lucrezio.
there's a guest appearence on three tracks by luca trolli, an old friend and great drummer with whom the nucleus of the gang shared the grand musical adventure of the blue messengers.
what "out of the blue" delivers is a deep groove full of raw energy. it cuts across many musical styles, but it's always powered by the blues. the impact is felt every time the fritz gang performs....on disc or on stage.

Italy is a country with a huge number of local blues bands and blues musicians. As you can easily imagine some of them are good, others are nothing special and the rest are not good ones. Lello Panico belongs to the first rank, that is to say, the excellent local italian artists...(La Hora del Blues - ES)

Great Blues CD!
author: John Oaklay
I really like this CD, it's a good combination of original blues, a bit of rock and even a retro, '70s era funk tune that's very well done. The CD is enjoyable from begining to end. I first heard parts of this CD on internet radios http://www.electricbluesradio.com and I'm hoping to hear more from these guys in the future.
