Pan Morigan, dual citizen of Canada and the U.S., is a singer, songwriter, composer, and multi-instrumentalist. Her songs are influenced by the wide, stormy skies and wild lakes of the mid-west, where she was raised. The experience of growing up in a city full of immigrants and seekers also helped to shape her musical imagination. Blues and Jazz, Irish, Greek, Persian, and Scottish music were everywhere to be heard, live. Friends held Irish sessions in their basements. Live Greek bands were heard in clubs with room for dancing Syrtos between tables. Pan's father made instruments for folk musicians, and the sounds of American folk, and Blues, and Persian classical music alike, were heard in the kitchen.

Pan learned that music had no boundaries and could not be fenced in. She learned to listen, sing, and write in multiple hues.

WILD BLUE soars. When the final song comes to an end, I just start listening again. The music carries me through miles and miles of elliptical training, effortlessly! I sweat and riddle and dance! Pan Morigan’s voice sets off wonderful visions to counter any dull gym landscape! Miracle music. Pan lets you slow dance or shake your booty and go wild! PEACH makes me want to get out and make something beautiful. The poetry of the language, the flight of the vocals, the magic of the arrangements makes WILD BLUE a surprise every time you listen. Each song sounds like my favorite. Wisdom and passion, insight and delicious harmonies. WILD BLUE is music for your heart and your head. It’s like you’ve never heard this sound before, and then it’s the music of your spirit!

Pan Morigan's WILD BLUE enchants and inspires.
author: Neph

Pan Morigan, who spun tales of Irish –American immigration on Castles of Gold (2002), displays her full range on this latest release. WILD BLUE adds Middle Eastern and Roma rhythms and instrumentation to Celtic, folk and jazz in nine intoxicating tracks that showcase her passionate, shimmering, expressive vocals. A multi-instrumentalist, Morigan is also a deft and poetic lyricist, whose musings on love, creativity and mortality soar over graceful grooves. “Night,” a sultry jazz ballad, coaxes celebration from shadows, while the lilting child’s play of “Peach” conjures the power of words. Pan Morigan's music stirs and eases body, mind and spirit, providing an inspiring soundtrack for challenging times. WILD BLUE is fast becoming my new favorite album. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
