ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Playing a style that he refers to as “Contemporary Classic Rock,” Mike Panzeca grabs hold of rock music and shakes off the dust and pretense that has built up over the last few decades. Fiercely rejecting the “image” focus that has become the primary factor in releasing music over recent years, he refocuses the rock lens where it should be, on music. Drawing on influences from bands such as Queen, Led Zeppelin, Yes, AC/DC, and Stone Temple Pilots (bands that were able to create moving rock tunes that were widely popular, yet not pre-fab formulaic pop music), Panzeca delivers fresh new sounds that recall those golden years. Understanding that rock music can be both catchy and, well, rock, Mike relies on the basics; good tunes, hard driving guitars, and straightforward production. This is no overproduced, oversampled, video age focus group rock. This is rock for people who remember how music used to be, but has been missing for so long now. It’s music for people who want to hear new tunes today that will still resonate in their hearts tomorrow. Tunes that are new but somehow familiar. No, this isn’t easy listening, coffee house, indie music. This is in your face rock you can sing to. This is new rock, done right. This is Mike Panzeca.
