The band's second album sees them in a more well-rounded light, with songwriter Martin Selman at the helm. With the help of the rest of the band, Martin has turned out a group of finely crafted, thoughtful songs, which tell stories, some fictional, of life, love and music.
Chiltern Hills : a storming tune about the band's love of their local area in England, or some kind of metaphor?
Broken is an upbeat song about a man wronged in love, learning to love again.
I Know and Move On show a more mature songwriting style, with elements of gospel and rock...
Throughout the album, the band blend a mixture of influences, and employ modern song structures that would be more commonly found in classic pop. Strong riffs on banjo, guitar and mandolin, pepper this collection. Vocal hooks and three part harmonies abound.
A worthy follow-up to their debut album, which was recorded two years earlier.
