Album Notes

Formed in 1996, and known as the Witch Doctors, the musical group Paradox played thier first gig at the Dover Working Mans Club in the UK. It was November 27 1997. They went on to playing for crowds at larger venues like the Leas Cliff Hall in Folkestone, in the county of Kent. Paradox's success didn't stop there, as they went on to win the popular radio contest, "The Battle of The Bands". Judges were quoted as saying,"Paradox has a unique sound, I can't put my finger on it, it has the X-factor." In 2000, newspapers reported about Paradox playing for charity, contributing in the cause for saving local forests, and leaving local bar managers amazed at the lad's laid back attitude, having turned down payments. Today, Paradox is one of England's hottest acts and signed by the Swiss record label Thunderdome since autumn 2004. The boys from Dover play Punk Rock, mixed with classic and modern Rock elements. Paradox has several influences, from Nirvana, Sex Pistols, REM, Beck, Pink Floyd, Green Day, Dire Straits, Linkin Park, Staind and The Who.

«Paradox is, although not duly credited enough, one of the greatest purely independent rock bands to come out of the UK in the past 10 years. The guys write and compose their own music, record; mix; produce; and market every one of the albums they've put out, basically all on their own. Paradox is a credit to the 'do-it-yourself' DIY community. Most people don't realise the work and dedication it takes to be an independent artist. Imagine being a creator, producer, distributor, promoter, and 'customer relater', all in one day-24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for as long as it takes to share your passion with others of like mind. It's that same passion and dedication that gives Indie music it's following, though. You the consumer are more likely to relate and have respect for bands like Paradox, all the time doing what fans do best - listening to and talking about the MUSIC! So we know that bands that aren't molded out and transformed into what the major record companies THINK the fans want, are likelier to succeed in a stronger market.» (Indie Artists)
