PARADOX, A Powerful Alternative Rock outfit, formed in Cork Ireland, in the spring of 1996. Having extensively played the local circuit, establishing a large fanbase, and fine tuning their sound, PARADOX venture to the USA in early 2000 where a Recording contract with a Los Angeles based Independent label, was secured. Having recorded a truly original 12 Track album, entitled 'Circle of Growth', Paradox returned to Ireland, to make preparations for it's imminent release, playing Electrifying live shows, both in Ireland and the USA, in turn increasing their fanbase, and launching their self-created website, just mere examples of the bands own hard work, enthusiasm and dedication.

PARADOX are a combination of three unique individuals, with distinctive musical backgrounds, each member contributing their own personal style, taking you on a musical journey, filled with passion, truth and expression. Brothers Pete & Mike Mac are solely responsible for all the performances on both 'Circle of Growth' and 'Sacred'. Pete is responsible for all Guitar work, Bass and Vocals, on both albums, while Mike perfoms all Percussion, Drums, Backing Vocals, with the addition of Keyboards and Piano on the 'Sacred' EP. They also participate on all production aspects of both albums.

PARADOX constantly remain in the media's eye, by means of International airplay, Radio interviews, Newspaper coverage, Internet coverage and Independent television broadcasts, with their debut video for the single 'Infinite', to their latest single 'Lame and Languid', from their latest release 'Sacred'. PARADOX have been described by Critics, Magazines, Newspapers, and faithful fans from the shows as being one of the tightest bands in their class, and with every show they perform, increasing their ever growing fanbase.

PARADOX have now progressed, both musically and personally to a new level of expression, veering away from their previous punk rock/grunge sound of 'Circle of Growth', to a more melodic Alternative sound, that the band have been thriving to achieve since their creation. This sound is captured on their second full lenght release, entitled 'Sacred'.

PARADOX continue to work on a full time professional level, in a bid to ensure they reach their full potential, and considering their blend of Unique Fresh Alternative Rock, these guys are sure to be a commanding force in the New Music Arena.

  • ...Instant Success...

Instant success is the only term I can use to describe the destiny of the Irish band, Paradox. With tracks like "Lame and Languid" and "Infinite" these guys are sure to grace the scene with a pumped up version of the modern Alternative/Rock sound. As I listened I found new reasons to listen again. Obviously Paradox is dedicated to their craft. The mix is great and the power is incredible with a perfect combination of acoustic and electric to please nearly every taste. As Rock goes I always try to compare one sound to another, but Paradox is not a band to be compared to anyone. Pete's vocals are impeccable, beautifully accented by the rest of the band. Lots of great guitar accents and solid beats put Paradox on the top of my "next best list" and make for one killer rock band. Driven by melody and pure adrenaline, these guys are a commanding force in the new music arena. I really enjoyed reviewing this this band and, all in all, I can't find a reason to give Paradox less than 5 stars. I fully recommend listening to their style and adding them to your CD collection.

One of the greatest things about the internet is with the click of a button I can walk across the world and into the studio of bands like Paradox. They have a unique sound. Can't really put them in a catagory other than exellent music. Coming from Ireland I hope thay get over to the states soon...Megan

  • The new Nirvana is here,!

****Reviews of "Infinite".**** the new Nirvana is here**** This sounds like where Nirvana was going to. It sounds like an In Utero/Unplugged combination. I like it. Very good the way the voice changes from soft to rough. I like the drum and bass coming in and later the electric guitar and the voice change. All perfectly thought and worked out. Great piece of work!**** nevermind... great mood. like the acoustic at the begining. the vocals remind me of Nirvana and the Sex Pistols, but the music is more like Smashing Pumpkins. cool stuff. you got a new fan**** Pretty good stuff This song has got a real haunting mood to it with shades of Nirvana. The vocals are delivered in a sly manner with a decent hook.****

  • ...attach itself to the base of your skull for weeks to come...

It's funny how a band can take in a vast array of influences and still end up sounding uncannily like one you're already familiar with.In this case, Alternative Rockers, Paradox are a dead ringer for early Nirvana. Of course, I thought the same of LocalH when I first heard their Ham Fisted opus and that did'nt stop me from really liking that album. The reason I like that release also explains why I really enjoyed this debut full lengther from this Irish outfit. By aiming to write strong diverse songs they manage to succeed because "Circle of Growth" is jamed packed with memorable choruses, lead heavy fuzzed up riffs and rhythms you just can't help tapping along to.It's not the present but it rocks in a downright irresistible fashion. The change of pace, dynamics and mood over the twelve tracks keeps things interesting throughout. First single,"Infinite" starts off with an acoustic intro that builds into a wonderful epic riff and then ends abruptly."Noisy Feedback" is a driving number propelled by some aggressive vocals. Paradox have worked their socks off to get this far, and on the strenght of this album we can look forward to a second record that will no doubt leave any obvious reference points at the door. In the meantime, what's on offer here is guaranteed to worm it's way into your head and attach itself to the base of your skull for weeks to come.Which is nice. 'Circle of Growth' was released in January 2002 through Jetspeed Records. Well worth checking out!!
