"Perpetual Limbo" is the 2nd full length release from the critically acclaimed Pennsylvania quartet Parallax Project. While their debut, "Oblivious", was pretty much a solo album by bassist/lead singer/songwriter Michael Giblin, "Perpetual Limbo" is very much a product of a tightly knit band that plays together often and well. Drawing upon the classic "rock combo" sound of early Elvis Costello and Graham Parker, Giblin, along with band mates Paul Murr (drums), Matt Thomas (keyboards), and Jim Patton (guitar), strikes a delicate balance between the anthemic rock of "Boy Genius" and the gentle chiming folk of "When I Hear Your Voice". In between you'll find sonic and stylistic nods to classic New Wave milestones like "Candy-O", "Get Happy" and "Cool For Cats".
This is the band's second release for Tallboy Records, the ultra-hip nexus of power pop. Visit them on the web and raise your coolness quotient: www.tallboyrecords.com.
