The Floor's Made of Lava!

by Parallel Play

Light-hearted, energetic, and just plain fun! Parallel Play packs every ounce of energy possible into songs chocked-full of wit, charm, and a deceptively minimalist pop-sensibility. These tunes and the high-octane performance to accompany them inspire stomping, clap-a-longs, screaming, dancing and occasionally headbanging.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Light-hearted, energetic, and just plain fun! Parallel Play packs every ounce of energy possible into songs chocked-full of wit, charm, and a deceptively minimalist pop-sensibility. These tunes and the high-octane performance to accompany them inspire stomping, clap-a-longs, screaming, dancing and occasionally headbanging.

Jeremy Drake (Guitar/Lead Vocals) and Jason Miears (Banjo/Harmony) have been slapping the mold in its proverbial face since childhood. From retrospectively embarrassing wardrobes, to the creation and renovation of new and original “nonsense” languages, these two long time friends are no strangers to innovation.

Their musical history begins, individually in early childhood, and joins together in high school; continuing strong into the present. With a lifetime of musical influence to draw upon, and a composing and performing chemistry developed (quite literally) over more than a decade; it is no surprise that when the duo finally set their eyes on a genre, paradigms would be shifting.

Now joined by the sound wizard, Tomy Lee, and the lovely Erin Gayden, Parallel Play is invading the folk genre and declaring it home. It’s time to folk on.
