Album Notes

The ParanormL Sickayatrist

It's 1992 in L.A. Southern California , a transformation is about to take place that will undoubtedly be recognized as a pivotal point in the history of music. Immersed in hip hop and seeking new avenues of expression, a 14 year old breaker/graffiti artist picks up a steno pad and a ball point and scribes the first of many rhymes that subsist deep in his soul.

From that point on, The ParanormL knew he had found his true calling. Deeply inspired by innovators like De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest, Pharcyde, Souls of Mischief, he started the group S.H.P. (Seventh Heaven Planets) and began rockin' shows. The ParanormL produced, recorded, mastered, and performed on all of S.H.P.'s material, including the group's two albums ("Re-Evalution" & "Chemistry"). This experience served him well as he has matured and naturally progressed into one of Undergorund's most respected solo acts. On his first solo release, "Refrain from the Mundane", The ParanormL recorded 21 classic Hip Hop tracks featuring Crag Malkovich, Johnny Five, RedCloud, Earthworm & more.

The ParanormL sets him self apart from the rest by striving to stay the most diverse Lyricist out. Doing albums that consist of many different vibes and sounds killing the monotony and keeping things fresh. Being a huge fan of the whole Jazz era The ParanormL was allways greatly inspired by the ones who made it happen for us all true Hip Hop heads, from the likes of John Coltrane, Count Basie, Gershwin to Sarah Vaughn & Ella you will defintely hear the influence in his delivery and cadence.

The ParanormL has allways done the so called "Abstract Hip-Hop" and what he now calls "Jazz-Hop" since his conception into being a full time artist. There for you will never get the same thing from this cat and suprise is definite when listening to his catalog of music. Expect the un-expected and a ahead of its time sound. The ParanormL's next projects will be strictly Jazz orientated and more melodic than usual.

The ParanormL collabed with Great artist such as - Vex DaVortex of (The Boogie Monsters), Canibus, RadioInactive of (Shape Shifters), Phoenix Orion (Alien Nation), Tableek (Maspyke), Jizzm High Defintion, Neila , Crag Malkovich of (Gershwin B.L.X), Avatar, Johnny Five, NoName, RedCloud, Kahlee (Literates), Mesi (Antedote) & more t.b.a

The ParanormL has performed live on the same bill with acts like - Abstract Rude, 2MEX (Visionaries), Pigeon John, Soul Elevation, HipHopKlan, Xololan Xinxo, Spontaneous, Konfident, FatHed, Neila, Ex2, Antedote (Neato Project), L.O.W.D, Malkovich (BLX), Rise N Shine, Halifax Allstars, Project Blowed, Avatar & Dj Obi, NoCanDo, Brawdcast, Icons (A.V), Ellay Khule, Redcloud, The Literates & more.

REVIEWS

Great CD for its Price
author: Peter Clarke
i have heard the other two albums, and i agree at times this album is a little to slow. Comparing the paranormls other two albums to the refrain, this cds has the best beats. If anything i would love a full on instrumental CD of this album. 5 bucks is a great buy for this CD and you get 21 tracks. i am happy with my purchase!

"Don't act like we didn't tell you: The ParanormL is just nice with his. And that's an understatement. Actually, this review could be as short as: cop this CD. But as you probably wouldn't believe an urban smartaleck, we gotta elaborate a little, what this tasty appetizer for the upcoming full length has to offer."
