A Rare Case of Awesomeness
author: Eric A. Meyer
I first came across this album around 1990, when I had a show at a college radio station (see wruw.org). I loved it enough to keep a taped copy limping along, and to do occasional Google searches to see if it had somewhere, somehow, been reissued on CD. It stuck with me that long, and that hard.
Now it's back, and as amazing as ever. The samples here on CD Baby don't really do it justice, to be honest, but that's mostly because no excerpt is going to convey the depth and complexity found here. Don't write this off as "distortion city", even though the samples imply that's the case. If you're at all into avant garde, experimental, or deeply psychedelic rock, you cannot go wrong with this CD. You'll wonder why it's been so buried for so long, and instantly understand why collectors were willing to pay $200 for vinyl copies.
My only hope is that enough people order it to warrant a reissue of the Parasites' second album, "Substrata"!

I was first introduced to the album when I was about 15 years old. I loved it! That was 28 years ago. It was NEW music to me and I had never heard anything quite like it... maybe MOOG. I received the CD in just a few short days. Backed it up and will enjoy it for many years to come. Thank You Patrick!

Ahead of it's time? That time still ain't here!
author: Slayman
TPOTWW release of this signature CD shows that this band was so far ahead of it's time that that time still has yet to arrive. Lethal axwork, brilliant lyrics and a rendition of Flying that leaves one's jaw swinging in the breeze. For lovers of avant garde music and electronica this is a must-have for your collection. Pat Burke and Terry Censky proved themselves to be the leaders in a musical genre that had no other participants; they were truly trying something new and different at a time when so much that was new and different was the norm. And this re-release comes at a time when new and different...isn't. Buy this CD and be prepared for some very pleasant surprises!
