Album Notes

What people are saying about End of Ride
"It's sad that mainstream rock has to sound like mainstream rock. There used to be a time when innovation, melody, lyrical brilliance and above all - musicianship - actually meant something. If you want to drift back to those days, check out the new CD from Paris Keeling, End of Ride; it's all of the above, and then some... And just to clear things up, Kelly Keeling is one of the Top 10 voices in rock and metal today. There, cleared."

"This is what happens when great musicians make music together. Check it out. - Derric Miller, Hard Rock Haven

"The musical brilliance that Marty Paris and Kelly Keeling have created with this debut release will give you goose bumps."

"My pleasure introducing here a stunning New York band, a surprising discovery a bit against the stream: Paris Keeling... They perfectly combine rock riffs with intense melodies, a sort of a very powerful symphonic rock, with super classy vocals."

"The new Eagles coming from the neurotic New York City? Why not? The cards are in order, really. Their brilliant debut album, "End Of Ride", is a favorite of mine... An impressive album, believe me, that enlights the future of popular music. From 1 to 10, 9.... Don’t miss Paris Keeling." - Radio Basile

A Musical Masterpiece!!!

'END OF RIDE' is the smashing debut release featuring Marty Paris (The Skulls) and Kelly Keeling (Baton Rouge/Blue Murder/MSG/Heaven and Earth/Guitar Zeus/Trans Siberian Orchestra/The Screamin' Lords/O'2L). The two bring their best to this CD. Their harmony and chemistry is tight, and their styles blend well. Combing both of their influences and creating a rock fusion mix of pop, hard rock and classical that will have you hooked from the moment you press play. Every track had my undivided attention from beginning to end. Melodic highlights are plentiful on this album. Some of the uptempo track highlights are "Tears Of Heaven" and "These Days", while "I've Found" and one of the best ballads I've heard this year in the form of, "Morning Song" are among the softer track highlights. Other highlights include "I Learned From The Inside" and "Free" will surely bring a smile to your face. The power of the lyrics and the clarity of the vocals combined enter straight to the soul on the winds of emotion. All in all 'End Of Ride' is a solid release that comes highly recommended. The musical brilliance that Marty Paris and Kelly Keeling have created with this debut release will give you goosebumps. You absolutely will not be disappointed. I strongly encourage all melodic rock fans to pick this one up. - The Atomic Chaser, The DRP/All Access Magazine

This re-issued recording project featuring North Carolina songwriter/guitarist Marty Paris and one of rock's top vocalists Kelly Keeling takes the original recording to a higher plane. The addition of five bonus tracks along with remastering and some subtle instrumentation embellishments of the original songs makes this CD a must for any fan of either Paris or Keeling, as well as people who appreciate songwriting talents funneled into various aspects of rock and roll. The gritty retro rocker "Tears Of Heaven" launches the disc with dramatic power. "Life" has an inspiring quality to it, with acoustic driven melodies and harmonic vocals building to an intense, uplifting climax. The addition of delectable string arrangements enhance the touching ballads "Feel" and "Free". Keeling's emotive vocal prowess shines on the minimalistic piano fueled "Morning Song". The bonus track "Alive" affords Paris the opportunity to display his talent, which he does to wonderful affect on this alt folk rocker with a heartland feel. The listener is treated to both a live and studio version of the edgy, Beatles influenced rocker "Head Straight." Like "Head Straight," the full throttle sonic guitar fueled "Don't Disturb the Occupants" features the indelible drumming of the legendary Carmine Appice. Other notable guest appearances include the wicked guitar licks of George Lynch on the modern blues tinged rocker "These Days," and his former bandmate Don Dokken produces Lennon/McCartney style vocal harmonies with Keeling on the subtly intense "I've Found". The bamd also pays homage to one of their inspirations - ELO - with a luscious cover version of the classic "Telephone Line". A near perfect balance of retro and modern styles fueling foot-stomping rockers and reflecting ballads with lyrics straight from the heart and soul of two talented musicians who really know how to tell stories with their music. "End of Ride Revisited" will rate high on your listenability and musical enjoyment scales. And for those of you into visual aesthetics, the new artwork is spectacular as well. http://www.pariskeeling.com, http://www.myspace.com/pariskeeling - available at http://www.cdbaby.com/pariskeeling2 - Marc Storm

Get Ready To Rock Review http://www.hotdigits.co.uk/cgi-bin/diary2/journal?user=jason PARIS KEELING ‘End Of The Ride – Revisited’ Surgeland (2009) www.sergeentertainmentgroup.com

Paris Keeling is guitarist Marty Paris and vocalist Kelly Keeling (Baton Rouge/TSO/Blue Murder) who are joined by a variety of musical guests including George Lynch, Al Piterlli (TSO/Savatage/Asia) and Carmine Appice. The main album was first released in 2006 and this re-release adds five bonus tracks including a Guitar Zeus song ‘Don’t Disturb The Occupants’ which has a great riff and chorus.

Kelly Keeling sings up a storm throughout the album particularly on the quieter moments like the strings backed ‘Free’. But if you’re after a tasty hard rock tune look no further than ‘Head Straight’ which appeared as a live version on the original release and the original studio version, which for me is the better of the two versions, comes as one of the five bonus songs. A couple of songs, namely ‘She Was’ and ‘These Days’ reminded me of Enuff Z Nuff in their prime. For a big ELO fan like myself there is another treat in store in the bonus material as they cover ‘Telephone Line’. It is a good version staying true to the original bar slightly different backing vocal arrangements. Guitarist Marty Paris gets his own showcase on ‘I Learned From The Inside’ and creates an enjoyable piece of music – no OTT solos thank goodness.

Definitely an album for your collection as it is a strong set of songs that stand up to repeated plays. Hopefully there will be another Paris Keeling album sometime in the future.
