Some weeks it's like the Beatles landing at JFK; a three year old spots Parker coming up the walk, guitar in hand, and starts to squeal, gasp, and squirm. The noise level rises as all of the kids rush to take their seats for music-time and soon a spontaneous chant starts to boom, "Par-KER, Par-KER, Par-KER!!! Twenty to thirty little hearts and souls cheering for music-time to begin.....it is something to behold!

Parker Bent is the preschool music teacher for the City of Beverly Hills, CA. He brings his music to over 200 children weekly; laughing, singing, and sliding a little teaching in under the radar. He also brings his music to other preschools, children's festivals, private classes, and parties.

Parker's music has been played on NPR's "We Like Kids!" as well as the Peabody Award winning "Kid's Corner" radio program. He and his work were featured in the December 2005 issue of LA PARENT Magazine, reviewed on Zooglobble.blogspot.com, coolmompicks.com, and lovelydavis.blogspot.com.

"I Am Your New Music Teacher" is a collection of songs written through Parker's work in pre-school music class. The songs are fun, funny, and smart. Their musical and lyrical sophistication is rare in music geared for kids. (Parents admit to sliding it back into the CD player AFTER they've dropped their kids off at school! There are even 5th and 6th graders that are die-hard fans!)

"26 Letters" introduces toddlers to spelling with a foot-stomping back-beat and a heart-warming outro. "I Am Your New Music Teacher" pokes fun at the sometimes inexplicably controlling world of adults. "Count On" just plain rocks!

Parker has worked full-time as a pre-school teacher in Massachusetts (his home state) as well as in Beverly Hills, California. He currently works with typical children as well as many with autism, speech and language delay, and other developmental problems. His 15 years working with children have helped him hone his natural sense of children's needs, interests, and funny-bones. His warmth and sense of fun translate instantly in his stage-presence. Children and adults alike recognize him as safe, trustworthy, and hilarious. One head teacher has called him, "...the jewel of our program."
