Album Notes

Parnassus is a Wiccan vocal group from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. We perform traditional Craft songs and original pieces based on the beliefs of Wicca and Paganism. Our music reflects our spiritual tradition - we sing songs which show our reverence for the earth and the balance of the God and Goddess. We also draw on themes such as: the wheel of the year, chants that invoke the elements, ballads inspired by our delight in life, magick and the playfulness of imagination.

First Degree - Review
author: Greg Currie
A solid performance by the involved musicians and a must-have disc for collectors of Wiccan music. "First Degree" ranges from contagious chants backdropped with drumming, to blues, to a small smattering of beat poetry. Themes of magic, Wicca, and witchcraft flow from the obvious passion and inspiration of the Parnassus band members. "Oh Shit, it's the Faeries" is a good and humorous song that will get a smile and laugh out of listeners. "Rough Waters" became a fast favorite being played back-to-back a few times. Many of these songs could easily become favorites to sing with and drum along to with a group of friends. Greg Currie www.thewicca.ca
