Album Notes

This record was recorded, with the exception of one track, during live performances in Germany 1999. It contains, besides Bob Dylan's Jokerman, Neil Young's Don't Let It Bring You Down and the Beatle track Rain, original songs that are an exceptional beauty.

Substantial rock songs with blues and soul influences, ballads and blood-curdling psychedelic tracks. Parsons has a warm charismatic voice, a voice that can fall into a rage that represents grief, fear and hope. In brief, here we have someone who does not only sing the songs but also brings his life into it, a singer with a voice who can get under your skin.

Parsons keeps his guitar playing simple but effective and has some great musicians playing with him. Ronny Crawford is not afraid to do drum solos as on the track Rain (darker than the original version), Scott Bricklin with his intriguing bass loops is an extraordinary bass player. Rain, Face (do you remember Night of Fear from The Move?) and Sister Moon, a jewel that seems to have escaped from an early Pink Floyd album. Just like 'The End' from the Doors and Doll By Dolls, Palace Of Love, the song brings you to a breathtaking terrifying finale so that the comparison with my West-Londoners favorite is the greatest compliment that I can give a band like this. An impressive album from a singer-songwriter whose live performance seems to be a sensation! Hello club owners are you still there?
