*****************

Pascal Danaë, singer songwriter and guitar player, was born in Paris. Throughout his career, Pascal played with artists such as Peter Gabriel, Neneh Cherry, Morcheeba, Harry Bellafonte, Youssou’n’Dour or more recently Ayo.

He also co-wrote songs with Richard Bona (Eyala), Just Jinger (Care about him) or Souad Massi (Tell me Why* and Kilyoum - ‘Mesk elil’, 2006 Winner, Best World Music album of the year at the BBC Awards and at the French Victoires de la Musique. *Tell me Why is song in duet with Pascal).

In 1997 Pascal leaves Paris for England, country source of inspiration (with the Beatles, the Police, Radiohead, etc.) and settles down in London for nearly 10 years. During this time he keeps sharpening his live performing, afro-rock guitar style and talent for song writing.

Pascal Danaë’s debut album 'London > Paris' is a ‘souvenir’ of nearly 10 years spent in London. The album was recorded in Pascal's cellar together with Richard ‘Jack’ Guy (INXS). Very talented musicians and close friends joined the duet to create a soulful acoustic album that flirts with folk and blues... An amazing album.

Sample reviews:

'Angel Snatch. This artist is out of this world. The vocals are emotion filled dynamite accented with perfect vibrato and voice inflection. The guitar part is subtle, professional, and pure genius only adding and never taking away from the essence of the song. The words are real and the way they are put into verse is stunning. Get ready because the train is coming and I predict a wild wild ride to Pascal Danae.' njbailey from Missouri/Review about 'School Yard'

'I'm in heaven ...relaxing...soothing..and tranquil..the vocalist has a voice that makes u want to put your headphones on and forget all about anything and everything...he puts you in a daze with his voice... best chill out track, a perfect melody...' Steve Westwood from USA / Review about 'Off the ground

'Beautiful song, makes me cry...gorgeous voice, vulnerability draws me right in...melody is beautiful... What a beautiful, beautiful song. So sad and raw!' Mypearmusic from Irvine, California / Review about 'Care about him'

A beautiful blend of words, music and strong feelings!
author: philandv
The songs on the cd are a beautiful blend of words, music and strong feelings. It is the sort of music that is played when the mood is a quiet one – whether alone or with a loved one. It is not a collection of sounds that is played to fill a space – it is more a gathering of thoughts and moods that have to be listened to time and again. Many of the songs are very simple and beautiful in the way that they have been compiled – there is no background orchestra or choir that detract from the honesty of Pascal’s voice and instruments. One thing is for sure – the message that is contained in each and every song is far from simple and is based upon real observations, thoughts, and experiences. My favorite song has to be “Still love you” where the combination of guitar melody and voice of Pascal give me Goosebumps every time I listen to it!

The song "Sorry" is my favorite. The sound, the lyrics, the vocals are just amazing. The album really deserves some attention.
