Album Notes

Recorded in Brooklyn, NY, Jennifer Paskow's first CD, Somewhere to Rest My Head, is a collection of emotionally raw and vibrant songs, a soulful, honest account of her journey of self-discovery and search for a physical and spiritual place to call home. The album has the feel of a musical diary, as the listener is given a sense of shared privacy. Though Jennifer's music can fit into the folk rock/pop vain, her vocal style is heavily influenced by the emotional expressiveness of the great jazz singers, such as Billie Holiday, Carmen McRae, and Abbey Lincoln. The intimacy with which she articulates each line and the haunting quality of her voice fills her songs with a depth that makes one feel as if they're right there in the same room.

Strong set

This is a very solid set of songs that seems to get stronger on each song. My favorites are Holding, Dear Brother, and Nowhere to Run. Plan on getting a lot of play for this cd.

Angelic and Penetrating!
author: Sabrina Caluori
Somewhere to rest my head is a beautiful listen from beginning to end. Jennifer Paskow's voice is reminiscent of Sarah Mclachlan's in its mysteriously angelic power and yet, Jennifer manages to add a complexity and vulnerability too her voice that feels incredibly fresh. This album just makes you feel better. Beautiful I Remember You is the kind of song that will haunt you for days to come. My only complaint is that it's only ten songs.

Fantastic pop-folk
author: Collected Sounds
Well, I was hooked from the chorus of the first song. What a great tune. The melody is infectious and Jennifer's lovely voice makes it perfect. Happily I can say that the recording keeps going strong throughout. Paskow is a great songwriter, these are very nice folk-pop songs. I like how she uses minor keys which results in the songs being interesting and not what you'd expect. Stand out Songs: "Beautiful I Remember You", "Dear Brother" but they're all good.

Unbelievable Album
author: Ryan
This is one of the best collections of songs I've been lucky enough to hear in a long time. Every song is a gem, I got hooked on the opening song and like other people have stated the songs really do get better as you go along. "Beautiful I remember you" and "I decided" are my personal favorites. Don't miss out on this cd, it's worth every penny.
