Mesmerizing
author: Forrest McFarland
Just an exquisite presentation of instrumentals. Lauren's melodies are interwoven with percussive rhythms that beg the listener's recapitulation only to discover another of Lauren's subtlties.

crazy great playing
author: Tom Bentley, guitarist
wow there's crazy great playing on this cd. Not stupid millions of notes distortion to choke a horse bu_l sh_t. actual songs, like compostions, like melodies on an instrumental guitar cd. WHAT A CONCEPT! I don't know how she finds so many great songs in all those wacky tunings she writes in but she does. Thanks for the videos on Utube too. Crazy great to watch you live. if I could play a decimal as well...favorite songs here the exciting back to the bone, the haunting day like today, the lovely song for susan. There isn't one I don't love. Crazy great.

Non stop Gorgeous
author: Charles Doucet, guitar player
This woman can make her guitar sing. This cd is non stop gorgeous. There's nothing recorded here that doesn't belong here. It's really vulnerable for most guitarists to leave space between phrases to not put the same licks over every song, to know when songs don't need a solo. Back to the bone is lush & warm & open, uncluttered, egoless, bare essentials, organic, beautiful, guitar music. I'm so impressed with the writing.

surefooted, guitar player with great taste
author: Steven Lighthouse, London
This is a great CD for many reasons, mostly musicality & guitar performance. Lauren is a surefooted, guitar player with great taste. Many live videos on utube testify how legit this player is. They don't come much finer than this. This cd doesn't clobber you down with volume or heroics. A guitar God of this quality is in a whole new dimension with details clever & direct, delicately complex, confident & boldly understated. The compositions are perfectly in tune with the contour of charm, bliss & desire. I love this recording. Bellissima.
