“At that moment, a cloud filled the temple of the Lord. The priests could not continue their work, because the glorious presence of the Lord filled the temple of God.” (2 Chronicles 5:13-14)
The purpose of Cloudy House Music is to encourage, inspire, and equip the church to become increasingly more intimate with the almighty God of the Bible. As in 2 Chronicles, powerful things happen when God’s people unite for His glory. That said, we hope and pray that you find yourself singing these songs both in and outside the walls of your church, transforming whatever your environment, into a cloudy house.
PASSION FOR SOULS is the first release under Cloudy House Music. The album features songs by Lincoln Hawk and myself(mark hood). We called on a bunch of talented friends and family to help us and God really provided. Most of the recording took place in my home studio. Check out my pics and you can see.(we call it the "hot box" as there is no air conditioning....uh...yeah...) The Live drums and mixing was done at Crossroads Studio by Chris Taylor.(we have some pics of his place, too! and he has fantastic air conditioning!!) If you're familiar with Psalty or Maranatha Music, you've heard his work. Fulton Hawk did the artwork, which turned out great! If your into The Salvation Army(like we are!!), checkout our band members...99% of the talent on this album was provided by Salvationists and those involved in PraiseWorks! Hallelujah!!(they're used to working cheap).
Like what you've heard so far? Checkout our myspace page at myspace.com/passionforsouls and hear some more songs. You can also hear a podcast we did for saytunes.com and hear us talk about the songs, the record, our hearts, and our beards...haha!

Passion For Souls is an exciting new offering from Cloudy House Music. Mark Hood and Lincoln Hawk have put together a great CD, filled with anointed worship songs performed by really talented people.
I love it when Salvationists record worship albums with “contemporary” songs. I believe that this expression can be an effective tool to reach those who don’t necessarily relate to more traditional Salvation Army music.
One of the strengths of Passion For Souls is its musical variety, from the Van Halen-esque opening of “United” to the indie/punk flavor of “The Only Way” to the hip hop vibe of “The Devil Can’t Have Me” to the purity of “Die Everyday”.
I wish had the space to write at length about each song(and yes, I just wasted space explaining that), but I don’t(so I’ll stop explaining). I’ll just touch on few highlights.
“Passion For Souls” – This song expresses what we all should be asking God for…passion for souls. I’ve personally used this song in leading worship, and it’s one of those songs that gets everyone pumped up and ready to out into the world with God’s message.
“This Moment” – This reflective song expresses our desire for those true moments with God. It’s obvious on this song, and throughout the album, that the songwriters love the Lord(as a side note, the vocals by Jeni Wallace are beautiful).
“We’ll Abide” – I love the message of this song. An excerpt: “…deafen our ears to the noise of this world and fill them with heavenly praise…” Great stuff.
“I Will Praise Him(Exodus 15:2)” – This is one of my personal favorites on the album. Lincoln has written a gem with this reggae tune, and Major Victor Leslie lends his perfectly-reggae voice.
“The Devil Can’t Have Me” – This is a great song with a phat groove(yes, that’s with a “ph”, even though I have no business using that word, ever) featuring the talents of Ace, whose rapping brings this song to the next level. Really cool stuff.
Overall, this is a really good album with congregational-friendly songs done in a worshipful way. Grab a copy or your personal worship time or to give to the worship leader at your corps as a source of great worship tunes.
