Album Notes

Pastor Paul Carrington and his Love Center Choir, sing to inspire their followers and give solutions to the every day problems of life. This is more than a CD it is an uplifting experience that we share with each one of you. Pastor Carrington unites with the legendary voice of Rev. Lawrence C. Roberts, a native of Newark, N.J., who was the first Black Gospel Producer in the country working with a major label. As a gospel innovator, it was Rev. Roberts who introduced to the world the first live "in church" recordings to ever be marketed in 1960. As a songwriter, Rev. Roberts wrote more than 100 songs, among them were "I Had A Talk With God Last Night," "He's Always Doing Something Good For Me" and "Stood on the Banks of Jordan," a song recorded with the late Rev. James Cleveland and featuring the renown Angelic Choir of Nutley, New Jersey.

Rev. Roberts was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame in Detroit on October 22nd of this year, along with gospel legends Timothy Wright, Luther Barnes and the Sunset Jubilaires, Rev. F.C. Barnes, Dr. Myles Munroe, Aretha Franklin, John P. Kee and Bishop Paul S. Morton. His narrative voice is featured along with Elder Paul Carrington on this CD dedicated to the victims of Hurricane Charlie in Florida and recent other cities in the southern United States. We pray that your burdens be lifted, your tears be dried and the joy that only God can give be yours, as you listen to each song. Leads are "At A Time Like This," Evang. Shirley Caine Johnson; "Have Thine Own Way," Sis. Rochelle Woods; "God's Got It," Elder Jonathan S. Pressley, minister of music; "Hold the Light," Rev. Lawrence C. Roberts, narrator; "He's My Everything," Sis. Bonnie Powell; "The Beatitudes," Rev. Lawrence C. Roberts, narrator; "Bread of Life," Rev. Michael L. Jackson and "A Mighty Long Way," Rev. and Mrs. Lawrence C. Roberts.

REVIEWS

Very Inspiring - Spiritually Awesome - But too short!!!
author: Priscilla Lewis Burkes
As I played the CD for an ill friend, it brought tears to our eyes. The songs are much needed at this time of all of our lives, but as we started to really enjoy them and get into them - they were gone. So I guess "THIRST FOR MORE" would be the correct thing to say!! All in all, the songs were very well picked and sang by ALL (I must say)and it brought back memories of when I was a child in church and loved to sing then.

AWESOME

The CD is awesome and it was food to my soul. The songs reminded me of church when I was growing up. I especially wish three of the songs were extended.
