Album Notes

Brennan started playing piano at the age of five. His mother (an accomplished singer/pianist) and his father (who toured as a singer in the Korean War with such luminaries as Duke Ellington and Sarah Vaughn) influenced his musical abilities. As the youngest of six children, Brennan was surrounded by musical styles at a young age from such artists as Bach, Sinatra, and Zappa.
Brennan began playing professionally at the age of 17. In 1989 he formed Second Power, a progressive power-pop band that reared one album that was noted for strong songwriting as well as promising vocal and arrangement techniques.
1993 found Brennan appearing on the television program "Star Search" where he performed "Daisy," a fan favorite from the Second Power album.
In 1998 Brennan moved to Los Angeles to work with Eden's Journal. Together, the band released two full length CD's which featured him as co-writer and arranger. Eden's Journal toured extensively while still finding time to compose the soundtrack to the award-winning play, "The Angels of Lemnos." Eden's Journal won a Best Sound Design award for their effort.
You can also catch Brennan in and around the Detroit area playing solo or with his band. The current line-up consists of Sean Bondareff (Bass/Vocals), Don Scarsella (Guitar) and Jerome Day (Drums/Vocals). These three musicians exemplify the abundant talent that Detroit is known for around the world.

Sounding Great Pat...

I have followed Brennan since he started putting the group together for Silky's in Dearborn, MI 5 or 6 years ago. To hear and watch him and his band play now, you know he has come a long way. This CD is great and it is wonderful to finally have it at my fingertips. Good luck in the future, and hopefully one day I'll come full circle to be able to hear you play live again. Watching Pat play piano is a great memory I have. Very inspirational to me coming from a musical background.

Beautiful music - sad lyrics

Love the piano/keyboard music. No lack of talent! The lyrics, while intense and real were a bit depressing. I would have given the CD a 5 if I could have found a little light heartedness somewhere in the lyrics. It's a great CD to regain calm and have a moment of self-reflection.

Cool tunes...

I happened upon this artist, through unconventional means, and I'm glad I did or I may not have gotten the chance to hear this music. The music is very well written and at times hard to listen to, simply because it hits home so often. The production is also very well done, as it's nicely layered, but not over done. I highly recommend ordering several copies (I did!), as you'll want to share this with everyone you know, and I know you're way too cool to make your own copies!

A fixture on the bar and pub scene in Detroit and Dearborn, Brennan bring a blue collar art to his music. The songs on king for one night come from the heart. And a good heart he has. A mix of blues and rock, composed on the piano, the songs are rich and genuine. With this release, let's hope Brennan gets the exposure his music deserves.
