Album Notes

Pat Carr may reside at the foot of the majestic Rocky Mountains, but he is still a Louisiana man at heart - and he loves to play the Blues.

Traditional style electric blues, acoustic Delta and gospel blues, and edgy blues-rock all flow from the heart, soul, and fingers of this veteran player.

His guitar style has been described as "emotionally charged" and likened to Eric Clapton and Mark Knopfler. His vocals range from soulful and subtle to raw and bluesy.

Born in Louisiana and musically raised on the streets of the French Quarter, Pat’s Southern roots contributed a variety of musical influences including blues, rock, soul, jazz, Cajun, country, bluegrass, and gospel music.

Pat's songs are stories of life experiences told from a unique perspective, often with his characteristic dry wit. They often cross genres and are as diverse as the influences that inspired them: from the gospel blues of Blind Willie Johnson to New Orleans soul; from Delta blues and hard-edged Texas blues to bluegrass and country.

"Some Kind of Blues" contains new blues songs from Pat, plus new digitally recorded, mixed and mastered versions of some of the songs from his first CD.

Some quotes:
“hot, biting guitar licks”
“excellent, strong vocal”
“solidly crafted in the classic blues vein”
“Swamp feel…clean, excellent lead guitar playing”
“great evocation of classic sound”
“memorable songs…powerful and sincere lyrics”

I knew Pat when he was a little boy and he was very shy. Now I know why: he was saving himself to grow up say "it" in music! He's fantastic and this is an awesome CD!
