Album Notes
Pathfire is an indie folk duo based out of Brooklyn, NY. Whether it's an acoustic lament or a rolling melody, Nathan Collins-Jensen (vocals, guitars) and Sean Titone (keyboards, background vocals) walk their audience through past mistakes, future hopes and present constraints with musical snapshots of an eclectic experience. Pathfire came into existence in March 2005 after Nathan and Sean bonded over drinks at DBA bar, a cozy watering hole in the East Village in New York City. They have played throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn at such venues as Piano's, Pete's Candy Store, Sin-e, Galapagos, The Brooklyn Lyceum, Micky's Blue Room, and Parkside Lounge.

Their debut EP, Think Out Loud, was recorded in Philadelphia, PA at Surreal Sound Studios. Alex Yaker (Roomtone, Grammar Debate) recorded and mixed the album as well as played bass on most of the tracks.

Intelligent Brooklyn mostly acoustic duo is showing that New York City’s anti-folk scene has already begun to expand out into more pop arrangements. Their catchy hooks show off their innate knack for fine-tuning a song’s arrangements while their vocals are on beat. Lyrically...“Think Out Loud” can be quite poetic at times. Nice.
