Album Notes

"Patience brings a fresh and delightful intimacy to her song stylings. Her voice resonates with a genuine spiritual connection. It is truly a treat to have an emerging artist 'sing the word' with such honesty and grace."
-T. Mychael Rambo, actor and vocalist

"Music brings people together. I am passionate in my desire to uplift and encourage others. I long to reach people of all races, cultures and backgrounds so that walls of separation are shattered, connections are made, and people are healed. In addition, I hope that my voice will encourage the listener to experience God's love by creating a "musical spa" that calms the mind, soothes the soul, and rejuvenates the human spirit."
-Patience

At an early age, Patience seized her God given ability to sing. At the age of eight, she sang lead in several musical productions. At fourteen, she traveled extensively with the Oklahoma City Chapter of the Gospel Music Workshop of America (GMWA). Her admiration for GMWA's founder, the late Reverend James Cleveland, deepened her commitment to serve others through the gift of music.

Her loving parents encouraged her to develop her mind as well as her voice. She received a four-year scholarship to attend the University of Oklahoma where she graduated with a Bachelors degree in Business Management. She continued to groom her vocal talents by performing with the University's gospel choir and GMWA. Her commitment to musical excellence won her first place in two events, which increased her exposure to audiences. One resulted in showcasing her vocal talents to more than 20,000 attendees at a GMWA convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Marriage and career opportunities led her to Minneapolis, Minnesota where she has worked in both the corporate and nonprofit sectors. For fifteen years she was a worship leader at Speak the Word Church International, one of the largest multicultural churches in the Midwest.

Patience's passionate, heartfelt and inspirational musical talent draws the attention of diverse artists. She has opened for comedian Jonathan Slocumb, Stellar award winner Fred Hammond, and has shared the stage with Josh Groban.

Her first CD project, "Legacy" blends traditional hymns with the intimate stylings of jazz and adult contemporary genres. The CD features the song "If I Can Help Somebody", referenced in the speeches of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Recording artist Giorge Pettus, opening act for Whitney Houston's "Moment of Truth" tour and songwriter for artists including the Stylistics and Soft Tones, is the producer.

I heard this title song, "If I Can Help Somebody", which I have not heard in years. What a great job. I heard it on the Oasis Network out of Oklahoma, listening on the internet in my home in Portland, Oregon. Fell in love with her voice and arrangement. I only wish she had a website. Or does she? Encore please?

For your CD Changer - do a little Chicago Steppin'!

Folks may be familiar with the song, "If I Can Help Somebody", it is a true classic composed in 1945 by Alma B. Androzzo. It has to do with 'if I can help someone along the way, reach someone and save a dying humanity...then my living shall not be in vain'. It's an incredible message and this new arrangement is funky and inspirational - full of rhythmic beats and flow and it totally makes me want to do the Chicago Step! The rest of Patience's CD, her rich alto is applied to gospel laced with jazz and adult contemporary music and it's FAB!
